ABEY'S REJAS 2010

Since 2010, Abey Charrón has led an ongoing 15-year photographic typology documenting the iconic mid-century ironwork of Puerto Rico. This archive captures the geometric vernacular of the 1940s and 50s—a vital visual history that is rapidly vanishing from our Caribbean landscape.

By elevating functional security into a formal study of silhouette and shadow, Charrón preserves the intersection of tropical modernism and personal memory. Recognized for its deep cultural and architectural resonance, the REJAS series is held in esteemed private and public collections, serving as a permanent record of the island's evolving urban identity.
